“bbh” is our restaurant at Bravo Beach Hotel. We are proud to introduce Christopher Ellis as our chef in the evening and Lauren Lebhar as our lunchtime and pastry chef. Christopher Ellis, an upstate New York native, has always had a passion for food. As a child he enjoyed sampling regional fare up and down the east coast as his family traveled. Christopher has always been attracted to unique ingredients and flavor pairings - always searching for something new, unusual and exciting. The dynamic fast pace of restaurants lured him in at a young age. After a few years in a variety of restaurants, and at the urging of co-workers, Christopher enrolled in the professional cooking program at Baltimore International Culinary College (BICC). He graduated in 1992, after a brief apprenticeship with CMC Peter Timmins in Ireland, which is where his passion for seasonal, local ingredients originated. After working at several hotels and restaurants across the United States, Christopher landed at Mark Miller's newly opened Red Sage in Washington, D.C. Here Christopher elevated his game, as well as taking with him Mark's unique commitment to sourcing the best ingredients, having food make sense, and thinking outside the box when it comes to technique. These experiences allowed Christopher to continue his quest for flavors and products while holding key positions with Rosewood Hotels, DeBordieu Colony (a former Ritz Carlton) and the El Conquistador Resort and Spa. As the creative pulse for "bbh", he uses local indigenous products from the Caribbean to enhance the offerings on the menu. Christopher opened "bbh" July 1, 2005 and after a successful first year, continues his search for cuisine that makes a difference. Our walk-in wine gallery has the best selection of wines on Vieques and each night our guests may taste featured wines before being seated for dinner. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday. Lunch is served from 11am–3pm and dinner is served from 6pm–10pm. Brunch is served on Sunday from 11am-3pm. Reservations are requested, but feel free to drop in to have a drink and visit our wine room. Enjoy the evening sunset at the seaside before a romantic dinner for two at bbh - where fine dining meets casual experience. Begin the night with a visit to our wine room and sample one of two featured wines selected from our extensive wine list. Or start the fun with one of our signature tropical drinks - maybe a mangotini or a mojito. Next, a taste of tapas with a Caribbean flair. Sit back and enjoy as our servers tantalize your tastebuds with a delectable round of dishes prepared from local roots, fruits and seafood alongside New Zealand lamb and European cheeses. For the finale, our pastry chef's desserts of the day will send you into sweet dreams - key lime pie, guava cheesecake, or our signature flourless chocolate cake. Mornings wake to fresh salt air, rolling waves and a delicious continental plus breakfast poolside. Each day our chef melds local ingredients with sweet or savory brunch traditions. Puerto Rican coffee, Harney & Sons Herbal Tea, fresh fruit and juices are brought to your table while you kick back and take in the view. info@bravobeachhotel.com
